What is the difference between the old BSZ40198 Assessor & Workplace Trainer qualification and the new TAA40104 Training & Assessment qualification?

The previous BSZ40198 course contained 8 units that concentrated on training, assessment and review.

The new TAA40104 traqualification contains 14 units and includes the new units about vocational education and training, how to use training packages, facilitation of individual and work-based learning as well as development and participation of assessment tools and validation.

In order to complete the Bridging course, you would need to complete the following eight units: TAAENV401B, TAAENV402B, TAAENV403B, TAADES401B, TAADEL403B, TAADEL404B, TAAASS403B, TAAASS404B.

I have completed the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Can I get RPL (recognition of prior earning) for this qualification?

Yes, you can. You will enrol in a Bridging course to upgrade your BSZ40198 qualification to the new TAA40104 qualification.

How will I be assessed?

For both of our TAA courses, there are practical requirements. We offer a number of ways to fulfil these requirements. Most of our students choose to either video themselves or have someone they know who is a qualified assessor (already holds the Cert IV in TAA) to observe them for us.

Virtual e-learning pro: You will be assessed in a number of different ways including online quizzes as well as written assignments, where you will need to complete your work and email it to your trainer. The practical units (DELIVERY and ASSESSMENT) have project-based assignments or demonstration components to them which need to be observed by a qualified assessor and then submitted to your trainer.

Online self-paced: There are 10 written assessments, which vary in length. Some units are assessed together. There are practical components in the DELIVERY and ASSESSMENT units, which need to be completed in addition to the homework activities for these units.

Is this course industry specific? Will I be able to train in my specific industry?

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a general qualification, not course specific.

However, you will be able to work with the Training package of your choice throughout your course.
